Campus Parking

Classes are scheduled at the SMC Bundy Campus and various other SMC satellite campuses, as well as off-site locations—please check your class confirmation for class locations. Classroom assignments could change from semester to semester, and may not always be held at the same location.

Though parking is currently free, parking at all other campuses during normal campus hours, except Friday 12:00 noon to Sunday evening, will necessitate having a "parking permit" or parking on street metered parking spaces.  Physical permits are no longer issued; license plates are checked against those in the database for permit holders, called the iParq System, which allows you to register for a parking permit. 

***important: do not create an iParq account until after adding your permit--follow instructions when creating a iParq account to prevent errors***

Heading South on Bundy: If you are heading South on Bundy Dr. pass Airport Ave, the immediate, next light is College Drive. College Drive only turns into the Bundy Campus. The Bundy Campus has only one 4 story building, which houses classrooms and administrative offices.

Exiting the 405 North at National:  From the 405 North, exit at National Blvd.  Turn left onto National Blvd. and continue to Bundy (approx 1.3 miles).  Turn left on Bundy.  Right after you pass Airport Blvd., turn right into the first drive way you come to (it is easy to miss and if you get to Rose, you've gone too far).  Once you make a right into the driveway, continue down the short hill to the four-story building toward the rear of the property.

Bundy & Malibu Campus Parking:

Parking is included with your Community Education registration, but requires a virtual permit. Within 2 business days of registering for an SMC Community Education course, you will receive an email from the SMC Parking/Cashier’s office with step-by-step instructions on how to register your vehicle for the virtual parking permit. You will need to use the Learner ID number (found in Confirmation email) and email address you used for Community Education registration. You must complete this process each term in order to avoid a parking citation. Any parking citations will be solely your responsibility. If you are registering for a course that begins the next day, our staff will attempt to get the parking instructions sent within 1 business day. If you have questions, email commed@smc.edu. Parking is enforced 24/7. Head-in parking ONLY, Permit is for Student Parking only – DO NOT PARK IN STAFF PARKING – YOU WILL BE TICKETED.

Please park in the EAST side of the lot (off of Bundy Dr)  – DO NOT park on the west side of the campus. Park only in spaces designated as Student Parking AND – DO NOT PARK IN STAFF or FACULTY PARKING – YOU WILL BE TICKETED.

Make sure you are parked HEAD-IN.  HEAD-IN ONLY is strictly enforced. That means no backing into a parking space, no driving through to the other side so you appear to have backed into the space.

PARKING ENFORCED DURING THE FOLLOWING DAYS AND TIMES:

1. Bundy- Monday –Thursday, 8am – 10pm and Friday, 8am – 12:00pm
2. Main Campus – Monday –Thursday, 8am – 10pm and Friday, 8am – 12:00pm
3. Center for Media and Design - Monday – Friday, 8am – 11pm
4. Performing Arts Center - Monday -Thursday 7am – 5:30pm and Friday, 8am – 12:00pm
5. Airport- Monday –Thursday, 8am – 10pm and Friday, 8am – 12:00pm

In most cases parking is not enforced Friday after 12:00 pm and on weekends. Note that overnight parking is not allowed.

SMC Main Campus: 1900 Pico Blvd. PERMIT/PAID PARKINGParking on SMC’s main campus requires a virtual permit at any hour Monday through Thursday, and until noon on Friday. Parking is included with your Community Education registration, but requires a virtual permit. On Friday AFTER noontime, and on the weekends parking on SMC's main campus is FREE and no permit is required. HEAD-IN PARKING ONLY is strictly enforced. As Community Ed classes are only scheduled on the Main Campus during off-hours, following these guidelines, there should be no problem in parking.

Airport Arts Campus:  2800 AIRPORT AVE. (your instructor should email you any parking information in their Welcome email). HEAD-IN PARKING ONLY is strictly enforced.  Monday –Thursday, 8am – 10pm and Friday, 8am – 12:00pm.

Emeritus College: 1227 SECOND STREET, SANTA MONICA, CA (Parking is available in the City parking structure #2, located at the corner of Second Street and Wilshire Blvd. Parking is free for the first 90 MINUTES, and $1 for each additional 30 minutes, up to a maximum of $14. Evening rates after 6pm may vary. HEAD-IN PARKING ONLY is strictly enforced.

SMC Performing Arts Center:  1310 ELEVENTH ST. There is a large, free parking lot right in front of BroadStage. In the event that the parking lot fills up, there is also paid metered parking on Santa Monica Blvd.; PARK IN CITY PARKING STRUCTURES OR METERED STREET PARKING ONLY DURING THE WEEK. Free parking is available only from Friday, 12:00 pm to Sunday evening. HEAD-IN PARKING ONLY is strictly enforced.

Though public transportation options are listed below, you should verify that they are available on the days and times you will need them.

Additional Public Transit Connecting Bundy campus and Main campus includes the Big Blue Bus Line 14 on Bundy Drive. This line connects to the Bundy Metro Expo Station and Line 7 on Pico Blvd, which stops at SMC's main campus, located at 1900 Pico Blvd.
